Perbandingan singkat
| PLA | PETG | |
|---|---|---|
| Suhu maksimum pemakaian | ± 52°C | ± 73°C |
| Tahan benturan | Getas | Lebih ulet, sedikit lentur |
| Kena air / lembap | Perlahan rusak jika lama terendam | Tahan |
| Kena matahari | Cepat rusak | Cukup, warna bisa memudar |
| Detail permukaan | Paling rapi | Baik |
If your part lives indoors and doesn't carry a heavy load, PLA is almost always enough: the cheapest, the fastest to print, and the cleanest detail. As soon as the part has to handle heat, knocks or water, choose PETG.
Side by side
| PLA | PETG | |
|---|---|---|
| Max service temperature | ~52°C | ~73°C |
| Impact | Brittle | Tougher, slightly flexible |
| Water / damp | Slowly degrades if left in water | Handles it |
| Sunlight | Breaks down quickly | OK, colour may fade |
| Surface detail | Cleanest | Good |
| Price | Lowest | A little more than PLA |
Choose PLA for
- Prototypes to check form and fit
- Display models, figures and gifts
- Organizers, trays and light indoor parts
Choose PETG for
- Enclosures and housings in daily use
- Snap-fits or clips that need a little give
- Parts that get wet, or sit in a hot room
- General jigs and fixtures in a workshop
When it's neither
Inside a car parked in the sun, near an engine, or above ~75°C: choose ABS. For parts in constant sunlight outdoors: ASA. Rubbery seals and grips: TPU. Very fine, small detail: resin.
